At the David Walsh Experience web site you'll find photographs
of people, still life, nature, scenes from Washington, as
well as a collection of stunning infrared images.
The David Walsh Experience
David Walsh is a Washington DC native who is involved in both photographic
and writing projects. What you will see when visiting www.pixwords.com
is one of the more elegant-looking web sites that have appeared in "Web
Profiles." The main page serves as both table of contents and mini-portfolio
displaying constantly changing thumbnails that show the scope of Walsh's
work. The design of the Introduction section follows the homepage and
provides details on the influences and direction of his photography. Images
are found in two galleries; one in black and white, the other in color.
The monochrome gallery contains six collections that are organized by
subject matter. Here you'll find photographs of people, still life, nature,
scenes from Washington, as well as a collection of stunning infrared images,
that, to his credit are displayed in their large, screen-filling glory.
You have a choice to view the images smaller, but unless you have a 13"
monitor, I urge you to click the "large" button. Navigation throughout
the site is clear, direct, and has stylistic elements often missing from
other photographer's sites. His color gallery contains four collections
that include photographs of politicians (hey, he's in DC!) as well as
more sensitive portraits, but don't miss his dramatic architectural images,
they demonstrate that Walsh is just as good with subject matter that doesn't
talk back.
