When we first told you about Affinity Photo back in February, the software’s parent company, Serif Labs, had launched a free beta version of the app that garnered tons of attention from photographers seeking to leave the subscription-based Photoshop CC behind. That beta has ended and now a final version of Affinity Photo is available for Mac computers.

But no, it is no longer free.

For an introductory fee of $39.99, you can now download Affinity Photo from the Mac App Store. (The price goes up to $49.99 starting July 23, 2015.)

What is Affinity Photo? According to Serif, the image editing software is built using Mac technologies on top of an advanced image-processing engine. Affinity Photo is designed to provide end-to-end CMYK, 16-bits per channel editing, LAB color, Raw processing, ICC color management, Adobe Photoshop PSD and 64-bit plug-in compatibility.

Pro-level features include Frequency Separation editing, Live Blend modes, In-painting, and advanced retouching—in task-focused, uncluttered workspaces. Meanwhile, lossless Raw image editing in Affinity Photo compliments a streamlined professional workflow with scaling, cropping, blurs and other popular edits while maintaining original image quality. It’s also designed to be non-destructive and fast.

Other Affinity Photo features include Liquify, a customizable user interface, Live filters, unlimited layers, flexible export options, a professional brush engine, warps and perspective corrections, and comprehensive shortcuts.
