This morning, however, DXO Labs announced they have acquired the widely used suite of Photoshop and Lightroom plugins, with an update to be forthcoming in mid-2018.

We can expect Virtual Reality videos to be the next big advancement in Internet entertainment. Always ahead of the curve, Google yesterday introduced its Jump camera rig—a tool designed to help filmmakers create innovative 360-degree VR videos for YouTube that can be viewed on Google’s Cardboard VR headset. The Jump is a circular VR frame that uses 16 GoPro Hero4 cameras working in unison and set vertically (side by side) along the outer edge of the ring.

The Faroe Islands are a bucolic archipelago of about 540 square miles between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. And as you might expect, this scenic locale wasn’t high on the list for obtaining Goggle’s Street View technology. So shepherd/engineer Durita Dahi Andreassen took measures into her own hands and created the “Sheep View” project for documenting the islands.

The new Night Sight mode for the Google Pixel 3 smartphone’s camera has been getting a lot of good press lately so photographer Pierre T. Lambert thought he would put it to the ultimate challenge. Instead of comparing it against other smartphone cameras, he pitted the Pixel 3’s Night Sight mode against the low light shooting skills of his Sony A7R III mirrorless camera.

The Google Cultural Institute has developed a super hi-res camera to help museums throughout the world digitize priceless artworks in greater detail than ever before. The custom built Google Art Camera is a robotic unit that captures hundreds of hi-res, close-up images of a painting, which are then stitched together using special software.

POV camera-pioneer GoPro has just unveiled its smallest and lightest GoPro yet. Called the GoPro HERO4 Session, the tiny, point-of-view camera is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than the company’s popular HERO4 Black and Silver cameras.
