The Fer-de-Lance is a real serious snake in the Neotropical Forests. It kills and maims many people each year. Our tour guide spotted this one in a roadside ditch. I did take several pictures from outside the van but I took this one from inside the van as we were getting ready to leave. I purchased a Panasonic bridge camera for this trip and its 600mm zoom makes it look like I was right in his face.
Panasonic DMC-FZ150, f5.6 Hand held at 1/8 Second.
