This image was taken in a remote slot canyon near Burr Trail in Utah. The slot canyon by itself is stunning, but the highlight is this beautiful tree: Wedged between two gigantic rock walls that look like they are about to crush this delicate tree at the entrance to the narrow slot canyon. It feels almost like a power struggle between the little tree and the monster walls - as if the branches are trying to push the walls away and keep the entrance to the slot canyon open.
I had gotten there early in the morning and waited for a couple of hours to get the perfect light, illuminating the red rock walls and the bright green spring leaves and creating great contrast for the curvy trunk and branches
