Today’s Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a transcendent image of the Northern Lights by Sherry Christensen.

“Watching the Aurora Borealis dance over the Canadian prairie one Saturday night is an amazing sight, it is bright, cold and lively,” Christensen writes about the photo. “It may look desolate, but in reality all is not silent. You can actually hear the northern lights dance! Very much an experience everyone should have.”
