The SECRET to Making People Comfortable in a Boudoir Shoot (VIDEO)
One of the most important things for a successful boudoir photography shoot is to make your subject feel as comfortable as possible. Because when they’re comfortable, they’ll project a relaxed confidence that will make the resulting boudoir photo look natural and eye-catching.
Easier said than done, right? One of the masters of having his boudoir subjects look comfortable is Washington DC-based photographer Marco Ibanez. And in the below video he shares his “secret” for making people comfortable in a boudoir shoot.
“A lot of people tell me that the women in your photos look so comfortable,” Ibanez says. “How do you do that? How do you make them feel comfortable? And, just to clarify, making people look comfortable is very different from making people feel comfortable. They are two different things. Some people may look comfortable on the outside, but they can be extremely nervous in the inside. So, as a boudoir photographer, my job is to do both.”
Watch below as Ibanez shows you how he achieves that look to produce striking and relaxed looking boudoir photos that sell. In the 12-minute video, he shares what you need to do before the shoot and during the shoot.
“The one thing you need to understand is that in order for people to feel comfortable with you, they need to trust you,” he explains. “Boudoir photos are very special, private, and intimate for your clients. So, they need to know not only that you are the right person for the job but also that they and their photos are going to be safe with you.”
