By now you’ve undoubtedly heard about Nikon’s new high-res, high-speed D850 DSLR and hopefully read our hands-on report. And now, thanks to Nikon Imaging Japan, you can feast your eyes on these sample images that provide an impressive taste of what this 45.7-megapixel full frame powerhouse can do.

We've included web-sized versions of the Nikon D850 test photos in this story but if you want to see them at full resolution, go to Nikon Japan's page where there are links to the original images along with 4K videos.

As noted in our preliminary report, the new Nikon D850 boasts a full-frame CMOS sensor and a host of high-speed and multimedia capabilities. The camera’s new processor and back-side illuminated sensor are designed to deliver full resolution images at 7fps and high-quality still photographs and videos under low-light conditions.

Other key features off the new Nikon D850 include a 3.2-inch tilting touchscreen LCD, radio flash control, in-camera raw processing, dual card slots, and impressive battery capacity with up to 1,840 shots at full resolution. The rugged camera features a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body and what Nikon says is their widest and brightest optical viewfinder.

With the addition of an optional ES-2 Digitizing Adapter and compatible Micro-Nikkor lens, the D850 is capable of digitizing 35mm slides and negatives and converting them in-camera to high-resolution positives.

You can find more sample images on the Nikon Imaging Japan website, and be sure to read our detailed hands-on report with a more comprehensive explanation of the D850’s capabilities.
