Need a Great Travel Camera? Canon Intros Compact New EOS Rebel T8i DSLR
Canon just introduced the compact and portable Canon EOS Rebel T8i, which is the "highest-performing" Rebel camera in Canon's line of entry-level DSLRs. Or, in other words, the Canon Rebel T8i is at the top of the low-end Rebel line-up and is aimed at photographers moving up from their smartphones to multi-featured interchangeable lens cameras.
And the new 24MP Canon EOS Rebel T8i certainly has some decent sounding photography features including Canon's DIGIC 8 image processor, eye-detection in live view, 4K video, clean 4K HDMI output, and it's the first EOS DSLR with vertical video, all packed into a relatively compact and lightweight DSLR camera body. It actually could be the perfect travel camera for those who want to pack a light picture-taking machine and go shoot photos.
Here's a rundown of the main features in the new Rebel T8i, which, according to Canon is designed for "aspiring shutterbugs looking to go beyond the 'Auto' feature" in their cameras. Sounds like our kind of crowd!
• Optical viewfinder with a 45-point All Cross-type AF System with Face Detect to ensure images are in focus
• 24-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) Sensor
• Continuous shooting at up to 7 fps
• 4K UHD, Full HD up to 24P
• Equipped with an approximately new 220,000-pixel AE sensor and EOS iTR AF (Face Detection)
• Fast & accurate Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Eye-detection (Servo)
