Nikon D850 vs Sony A7R III: Which of These Two Ultimate Full Frame Cameras Is the Best? (VIDEO)

Here it is, folks: the ultimate full frame camera shootout many photographers have been waiting for. Tony & Chelsea Northrup put the 45MP Nikon D850 DSLR against the 42MP Sony A7R III mirrorless camera in the below comparison video.

“We've been using the two highest image quality digital cameras for about 8 months in the real world, so this is a long-term review comparison,” the pair say on their YouTube channel.

“In this video review, we compare them for Image Quality and Color, Autofocus (AF), frames per second (FPS), durability/reliability/dependability, the viewfinder (optical vs electronic viewfinder/EVF), battery life, handling and usability, Wi-Fi, silent shutter, video recording, timelapses, lenses, and price.”

As Tony points out at the beginning of the video, since they’ve been using the cameras for so long in so many different scenarios, they have a pretty good idea of their attributes, which are numerous.

“We’re not gonna do tests because we’ve been living with them for like eight months now,” he says at the start of the clip. “If we’re both shooting, probably one of us has one of these and one of us has the other. They’re like the best image quality, highest resolution cameras that are currently available and we love them both.”

Yes, they’re both great but which one is the best? As usual, we’re not going to give away any spoilers so watch this “mirrorless vs DSLR ultimate fight” and find out! And be sure to check out more great photography videos on Tony & Chelsea Northrup’s YouTube channel.
