Phew, what a busy month it’s been for new photo gear! While the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas has not, traditionally, been a major event to debut high-end photography equipment, CES 2016 was definitely an exception with dozens of interesting imaging releases. (And hopefully this is a trend that continues at future CES events, which, in recent years have been rather ho-hum for photography gear.)

Part of this surge in new photo product releases for early 2016 is, undoubtedly, also tied to the emergence of the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show in Japan as a major event to premiere new photo gear; and to the disappearance of the PMA show in the United States. (For anyone keeping score at home, 2016 marks the end of the Photo Marketing Association International – aka PMA – International Convention and Trade Show as an annual imaging event in the USA. RIP PMA Show.)

With CP+, which takes place in Tokyo from February 25-28, 2016, following on the heels of CES, the photo gear news has been coming hot and heavy. And there will, no doubt, be A LOT more news as CP+ approaches, so keep checking our site for new product coverage. (In fact, Olympus just launched this classic-looking PEN-F mirrorless digital camera.)
