We were going over the photos for this story when photographer Lucas Gilman said something I didn’t entirely agree with. He was talking about making an image in which a bird came into the frame just as a surfer was making his move on a wave. “Cameras are so good now, anybody can take the exact same pictures I can,” he said, “so what I do is look for and take advantage of subtleties that others overlook. That way I separate myself from everyone else who can buy a new camera and make great pictures.”

The new site -- www.agfaphoto.com -- merges two of the company's earlier
web portals, www.agfanet.com
and www.agfaphoto.com.



AgfaPhoto's new website features an improved design and user interface as
well as a selection of new Photo Service pages tailored to the needs of users.
Visitors to the site will find useful facilities such as the AgfaPhoto Print Service
for ordering prints from digital photos, as well as services for creating personalized
postcards and designing original photo gifts. With the AgfaPhoto Web Album, users
can show their digital photos online to family and friends and enable them to
order prints. This service is available free of charge for the first ten days
after a consumer's initial visit to the site.
