For our annual discussion on the business of wedding photography, I spoke to three wedding photographers who are finding success in doing what they love. One of the keys to their success is that their marketing ideas and tips illustrate top-of-mind awareness, which helps keep them foremost in their clients’ minds.

As a wedding photographer/videographer you have to be ready for anything. The same can be said for a wedding couple as the scary video below captured by F&J Productions shows.

Here’s a great photo challenge to test your creativity this weekend: try to take as many unique images as you can of just one object. Tough assignment, right?

Here’s another video from our favorite weird lens guru Mathieu Stern who gives a preview of some cheap Jupiter Soviet lenses. Stern regularly discusses inexpensive, oddball glass that can be used on mirrorless cameras.

The F.J. Westcott Company has introduced their new Spiderlite for still and
video imagemakers. The Spiderlite is less than five inches deep and is constructed
of solid metal. The inner metal surface of the light offers a highly reflective
surface. Any light falling backwards is again reflected back into a Soft Box
allowing for maximum output of the lights. Built-in points allow for direct
attachment of a Soft Box onto the Spiderlite itself. This not only cuts down
the cost of purchasing an adapter ring, but also allows the end user fewer parts
to carry or lose as well as quicker set-up.
