The adult Skua and its chick were photographed on Saunders Island in the Falklands with a Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 70-300 mm VR lens at 300m. The exposure was f/16 and 1/250 sec. Southern hemisphere Skuas steal penguin eggs and prey on penguin chicks. So maybe the adult is saying, “I know that they’re cute, but we’re not vegetarians.”
