Watched over my the male, this female wolf had a large chest wound that had apparently been inflicted by another wolf. It was at least a 6 inch tear in her hide that soaked her entire chest, abdomen, tail and legs. She laid for hours in the snow and only got up to couple with the male every 2 hours or so...it was mating season. You have to wonder.
