The Winners of the "Magnificent Macro" Photo Challenge

Shutterbug partnered, once again, with GuruShots for another exciting photo challenge. This time, the theme was "Magnificent Macro," and the bounty of excellent entries proves you were all ready for your close-ups.

For this contest, we asked you to submit your best macro photos showing the world around you at close range. You responded with a beautiful variety of macro photos of insects, flowers, plant-life, and other elements of nature.

We received thousands upon thousands of entries in the Magnificent Macro contest, so the competition was stiff. After millions of votes were tallied in the contest, three winners we're named in the Top Photographer, Top Photo, and Guru's Top pick categories.

We've included those winning images below along with seven runners-up. At the bottom of this post is a slideshow gallery with the rest of the runners up in the Magnificent Macro challenge.
