During a chilly afternoon I attended an art show at a pier on New York’s East River. Luckily, I took a break and walked outside and in back of the building to enjoy a view of the river. I didn’t anticipate that my vantage point would afford me a view of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. Another stroke of luck was having telephoto lens along for the ride. The compression of the focal length enabled me to capture an unusual composition where both bridges appear to come together in a magical moment of urban geometry just before sunset.
