I got to my spot along the Foothills Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park about 6 a.m. Myself, my wife and an old college buddy went up to photograph the eclipse. We got there early because the rumor was that over a million people were coming in to view this at the park. After a lot of waiting and photographing the progression, totality hit. I captured this image about 20 seconds into it and it will be an experience I will always remember.
