This is another photo from my series, "Spotted". It is a documentation of the looks I would receive, as a foreigner, living in a smaller northern city in China. This particular photo was captured in a magical moment. I was visiting the famous ghost city, Ordos, in the region of Inner Mongolia, China. This boy was sitting alone on the steps. I noticed him and decided to play a joke. I stood behind him and waited for him to turn and notice me. When he did, I took his picture. He was startled at first, but quickly started laughing and blushing. It was a magical moment caught through a photo. Not only were we complete strangers to each other, but we had a language barrier as well. I love culture. Moments like this is my favorite part of being a photographer.
