Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Side Slip” by Sheldon Heatherington

Today’s Shutterbug Photo of the Day is this fantastic aerial shot by Sheldon Heatherington, captured over Pensacola Beach in Florida.

Heatherington shot the spectacular image from another plane, while using a Canon 7D DSLR and Canon 18-135mm lens attached. The image was captured at 1/60th sec, 64mm, ISO 200.

“I was shooting over our local beach with aerobatic pilot Skip Stewart,” Heatherington writes about the image. “I asked him to put it in knife edge flight, and this is the image that resulted. We shot this out of another aircraft at about 150 feet over the water."
