Parisian shop fronts are among my favorite subjects for photography because many are uniquely painted, have interesting names, unusual sign typography, and provide a clear “sense of place”. This photograph was taken on the Right Bank, just over the Louis-Philippe Bridge. The original photograph was taken with a Nikon D200 and a Nikkor 18-200 mm VR lens at 42 mm. The exposure was f/5.6 and 1/250 sec. Processing was done in Photoshop with the help of Topaz and Nik plug-ins. Note: Don’t spend too much time trying to correct bent, bulging, wavy, and tilted lines in images of Paris buildings. They may be real, not lens aberrations. Image by Irwin H. Segel.
