I took this shot early in the morning at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, about an hour outside the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. One pair of Mountain Gazelles had already peered over this dune, scanning the area cautiously before bounding across the dune face. Just as the first pair disappeared from view, this second pair of gazelles peeked over the dune. I was at the base of the dune and they gazed at me long and hard. I took the opportunity to capture their discerning expressions before they ventured across the face themselves.
