Impossible Intros New Special Edition B&W SX-70 Polaroid Hard Color Instant Film

Despite big changes in the imaging market, Polaroid is a brand that continues to have staying power. First the company unveiled a curious new, cube-shaped camera and now there's a new black-and-white instant film.

Impossible, which is carrying on Polaroid's instant film legacy, has launched its latest special edition instant film for Polaroid-format cameras: B&W SX-70 Hard Color. It's latest in a series of Impossible special and limited edition instant films that offer an alternative to the usual classic, white, square frame made famous by Polaroid. Impossible offers films with black, silver, gold or multiple colors as well as tropical and animal skin prints. They also have different colored film emulsions, including sepia, cyan and magenta.

B&W 600 Hard Color matches high contrast monochrome images with rich red tones, yellow, blue, orange, purple and green in a pack of 8 exposures. Impossible special edition B&W SX-70 Hard Color is compatible with any Polaroid SX-70 type camera. While the Polaroid SX-70 format is now 42 years old it is still popular with photographers for the fun and creativity it offers.

Impossible helped revitalize analog instant photography and the medium is exerting an increasing influence on popular visual culture. Impossible accomplished this with a wide range of color and B&W films for Polaroid SX-70, 600 and Image-Spectra cameras, large format 8x10 and its own-branded hardware (such as the Instant Lab which enables digital images on an iOS, and soon Android smartphone to be transformed into real instant photos).

The new Impossible special edition B&W SX-70 Hard Color for Polaroid SX-70 cameras is available through the Impossible Online Shop and selected retails stores worldwide.
