We were on our first trip to Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. I had just upgraded to a new lens and had to take some shots of the beauty that is Hawaii. As I walked along the grounds by Wailea Beach I came across these native red ginger flowers. I focused on the red ginger flower petals and got great bokeh in the background, which made for a stunning red flower. My camera was a Nikon D90 and AF-S Nikkor VR DX 18-200mm lens at ISO 400, f/5.3, 1/1000 sec at 95mm.
