Since I started reading Shutterbug magazine, both in print and online, I've been inspired by other photographers to step out of my safety zone to try new things and challenge myself to improve my photographic skills. I have more confidence now, but still have much to learn. Although I've always shot landscapes, I've discovered how much fun other types of photography can be, especially food photography.
After reading how difficult it can be to photograph grilled cheese sandwiches that look appetizing, I decided to take a stab at trying to create and shoot the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. This is one of my attempts using window light and white fill cards. Shot handheld with a Nikon D750 camera and a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens.
