With my love of photography, I'm constantly trying to learn how to improve my photos. I read a lot of photography books and magazines that are very informative and inspiring. The magazine which has inspired me the most is Shutterbug. The monthly "Picture This" assignments have challenged me to go beyond just shooting landscapes and family snapshots. I've become interested in many genres of photography which I never thought I'd try or enjoy. Hopefully, I've advanced to the next level and gone beyond just snapshots.

When I read a quote from a popular food photographer stating how grilled cheese sandwiches are difficult to shoot and come out appetizing, I saw it as an opportunity to challenge myself to try to create a photo of a grilled cheese sandwich that looked as good as it tasted. This is one of the shots I took using window light and white fill cards. Shot with a Nikon D750 camera and a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens.
