A Great Gray Owl looks for food in the dead of winter in Northern Minnesota. Sax-Zim Bog is renowned for its owl population. Standing in below-zero cold to see and photograph this bird was pure joy all around. Sharing the moment with a half-dozen other birders from around the country was a joy-multiplier.
