Fontana Lake is one of the Great Smoky Mountains best kept secrets. The Smoky's share Fontana Lake with the Nantahala National Forest. On the right of this image is the Nantahala National Forest and on the left and going on back is the Smoky's. Most people that visit our most visited National Park skip out on the back end of the park, mainly because of all of the back roads it takes to get here. It, to me is well worth the trip and rivals any other viewing point in the Smoky's.
