I always look forward to my Spring Birding trips. This January I headed to La Jolla, CA with my husband. As usual, the cliffs were full of birds and my favorite nesters these Brandt's Cormorants. Always loved the royal blue color in their faces! This adult was constantly displaying his feathers and making his courting calls. There many nesting pairs with eggs, a few singles out there too, trying to make a match. Meanwhile so many flew out to sea, coming back with nesting materials. I cannot get enough of these beautiful bird behaviors!
