Giant Slalom (GS) ski racers often ski at very high speeds. Focus tracking and burst mode shooting is necessary in order to have a chance to get a good shot. Since it was a sunny day in late March, there was lots of light to enable the use of a high shutter speed. Reaching the shooting location required me to ski on some advanced runs because walking uphill on the snow would have taken too long. Considerable exposure compensation is required to account for the presence of the bright snow.
