I live in the south Okanagan Valley of BC Canada and the area has a number of small groups of California Bighorn sheep. During the fall rut I will hike the mountains and upper grassland areas looking for the Rams which are in rut. This Ram was in the high country near the early snow line and was tending to a small group of Ewes that it managed to win over. Camera was a Canon 5D Mk III with the Canon 500mm f4 lens on a tripod. Settings for the photo as follows. Aperture was 5.6, speed was 1/800 sec and ISO was at 800.
