I had just bought my Canon 5D Mk III, and I was on my first fall photography trip. The learning curve was intense, and I remember just exploring Zion National Park in amazement. I took a trip up the Narrows, with every corner I turned around revealing something beautiful. This shot was taken at the end of my Narrows trip and I was so tired from wading upstream that I almost didn't take out my camera. Some photographers had stopped to take photos of a buck just to the left of this, so I wearily took out my camera and set up for one shot, this one. This turned out to be my favorite from the entire trip. Gear: Canon 5D MkIII, 24-105mm lens, tripod, polarizer. Settings: ISO 100, f16, 1 sec exposure.
