Along the southwest shore of Kitty Hawk Bay, flanking the wetlands, the cottage faced a live oak that took root three hundred years back. This last year the lot was put up for sale, and before the house was razed the portrait was made to honor the family that had created the household there. Nikon D610, 2.0/85mm Nikkor with a Nikon polarizer, Manfrotto tripod, mirror up, cable release. The lot is now leveled sand; the Bay, the wetlands endure. The oak is scheduled to be felled in the coming year so that the road can be widened.
