6 Ways to Shoot Striking Landscape Photos with a Telephoto Lens
There's more to landscape photography than just using a wide-angle lens. In fact, you can capture many interesting landscape looks using a long telephoto lens.
Using a telephoto for landscape photography can be tricky though. In the below video, pro photographer Mark Denney shares six telephoto lens tips that will "actually improve your landscape photography."
"I've spent the last week in the outdoor photographer's paradise that is Southern Utah and in this video, I take you along to a location that's been on my bucket list for quite some time now," Denney says.
"And this location is the perfect place for a video all about how to improve your telephoto landscape photography. I think when most folks get started in landscape photography, a wide-angle lens quickly becomes the go-to, but as one progresses, a telephoto lens can easily become the new favorite. But using a long lens can come with a unique set of challenges that I hope you can resolve with the six tips covered in this video."
In the video, Denney uses a 100-200mm lens to capture six images on location in southern Utah and then he explains why his long lens choice helped make the photos unique. You can jump to each photo/tip in the video at the time-stamps below.
