The Rescued Film Project is an amazing online gallery of images that were captured on film between the 1930's and late 1990's. The fascinating and poignant video below chronicles the discovery and restoration of 31 rolls of undeveloped film shot by an American solidier during World War II. When you see the resulting photos, prepare to be stunned.

If you need a good laugh you owe it to yourself to check out this video: “The 5 Worst Types of Photographers.” It features real-life photographers Tony Northrup and his wife Chelsea in five short skits depicting couples out shooting, and they’re pretty hilarious. Hopefully you’re not reminded of anyone you know.

We took the new 20.8MP Nikon D5 full frame DSLR for a spin in New York City last week, putting it to the test as we captured nude and semi-nude dancers in Times Square and other locales. Our mission was to test three main features of the Nikon D5: its ability to track dancers at high speed while firing off 12 frames per second bursts; it’s ability to capture subjects in low light at extremely high ISOs; and its ability to lock in focus in near total darkness.

Here’s an interesting video in which Chief White House Photographer Pete Souza explains how he makes such intimate images of President Obama who considers him a friend. In the past Souza was an Official White House Photographer for President Reagan and a freelancer for National Geographic. He also worked for the Chicago Tribune in their Washington bureau.

Photographers know perhaps better than anyone that it's tough to please a client, particularly if you shoot portraits for a living. Indeed, there’s no end to which a portrait photographer must go to make his or her clients looking and feeling good.

Ask any photographer to name the iconic image-makers of our time and Ansel Adams is undoubtedly near the top of their list. Ansel’s work is both aspirational and inspirational for all of us.

Canon’s newest full frame, flagship professional DSLR, the EOS-1D X Mark II, is a real speed demon. We saw just how fast it is during a hands-on demo of the new Canon rig at the WPPI show this week.

The Nikon D5 was announced in early January but it’s only just now making its debut in the United States. We got some early hands-on time with Nikon’s newest flagship full-frame DSLR at the WPPI show in Las Vegas this week.

Here’s a photo shoot FAIL that pretty much seems inevitable in retrospect. In the 20-second clip, a woman on a beach in Rio de Janerio, Brazil strikes a mermaid-like pose for a photographer on some wet rocks along the ocean.

We’ve been at the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) show in Las Vegas all week touching and trying out the latest photo gear. One camera  we were particularly excited to see in person is the long awaited Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR.

Photographer Anuar Patjane won National Geographic’s 2015 Traveler Photo Contest for this stunning, black-and-white image titled “Whale Whisperers.” But what’s it like to swim underwater alongside the ocean’s largest mammals with camera in hand?

Photographer and videographer Roger Ballen’s work is dark, surreal, and downright creepy. And there are many people out there who would consider it art. But what about your work? Are you a photographer or an artist?
