I had the chance to spend more than an hour with this large reptile in a close proximity eye-to-eye respecting each others space. He was about five feet long perched in a tree branch located in the back lake at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, Florida. Other variety of iguanas in different sizes and colors have made their habitat in all of Broward County and now considered as an invasive specie. Despite their unpopular invasion to homes and roads everywhere they are a good reminder of similar species from the Dinosaurs era displaying amazing details and complexity on their armored skin coat. This particular variety has a strong coppery orange color showing incredible textures in a fascinating pattern. It is a true survivor from the prehistoric age.
