Nikon D7000 F5.6 1/500 ISO 100 300mm

I took this shot at Caballo Lake, New Mexico. Grebes are common on this water and are well known for their graceful dance during the mating season, but another interesting characteristic is that their young sometimes ride on the parent’s back. The grebes tend to hang out in open water making getting a shot using my long lens while riding in a moving boat questionable but with perseverance I was able to get this shot.
