I was photographing birds at a local park where many people toss seed for the birds. As the cardinal came in for some seed, the blue jay came in seconds later. The cardinal was not about to share, so he confronted the intruder, which is unusual because the cardinals are usually intimated by the blue jays.
Shooting in Continuous mode helped me get this mid-action shot.
The camera was a Nikon D800 with a Sigma 150-600 contemporary lens. It was shot at f/7.1 and 1/1000 second at ISO 1000 in aperture priority mode.
