Fort Ord is an old Army base located near Monterey Bay in California. It was closed in 1994 and, while many buildings have been taken down, a large number of abandoned buildings still remain.

This photograph was taken while exploring one of the many buildings that appeared to be for housing with a common men's bathroom located at the end of each floor. I found the composition interesting between the angles of the door, the pattern left by rust and the view of the building out the window.

This was photographed with an Olympus OMD-EM1 using an Olympus 7-14mm lens. Multiple exposures were taken and later combined in Photomatix to address the contrast between in the interior and the view out the window.
