I visited Antigua the first time in 1991. It was a sleepy Caribbean island not inundated with tourists...and I got some amazing images. Real people, real images of a society not with their economy ruined by tourist. The 1991 photo of the building in Time Stop was one of about five local businesses on the street...locals selling and buying from locals. As time went by, I visited and noted the change until last April when I took this photo. All the businesses are gone, the houses are "falling down", and the great spots for real photos have disappeared. Tourist and their trade has changed everything. For the photographer, Antigua looks just like the fifteen or so islands that tourists visit. Too bad.
I shot this with a Nikon D-600, 14-24 Nikkor zoom at 14mm. The b&w conversion with Nik filters.
