Walking through a southeast China village, I spotted this doorway set off with two dusty lanterns and lines of Chinese calligraphy. What enticed me, however, was the mysterious image of stairs lit only at the center where the light fell, leaving the top and bottom unseen. Taken with a Nikon D700 and a Nikkor 24-70 mm lens set at 24 mm and f/ 5.6.
