I love the colors of a sunrise in the mountains but I think mountains and b&w go together like a hand in a glove! I shot this on a 0ºF day in Big Sky, Montana. I knew as I was shooting it that I would love it, even without the color. The wind was really roaring up top and it was getting quite breezy at my location. I was standing in snow past my knees while I set up the tripod with my telephoto lens in order to pull the mountain in to the trees in the foreground. I had to raise the ISO in order to shoot fast enough to stop the motion of the trees whipping in the wind. I waited until the mountain was crowned in a halo of wind driven snow and captured this image.
