While visiting Hawaii we included a helicopter tour of Volcanoes National Park. Our pilot flew over this shoreline area where lava poured over the cliff edge into the ocean. Massive columns of steam from the collision of water and lava soared skyward, with only brief views of the lava as seen here. An amazing scene to experience!
Taken with a Nikon D3, 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. ASA 400, f/8, 1/400 sec.
