The Great Wildebeest Migration is a must - see phenomenon for the wildlife enthusiasts . More than million antelopes travel through the plains on Tanzania and Kenya through out the year in search of grass and water. In August , they reach Masai Mara in Kenya . To reach vast grass lands , they have to cross croc - infested Mara river . The crossing of the Mara river by the animals is a spectacular event. One by one , they get into the river and swim . One of the energetic wildebeest was taking the plunge dramatically !
