The perfect storm of a composition. The cloud cover was just right; the golden hour colors were just right; the jet contrails were in the perfect position (makes for a smoking sun); and I was there to capture it all.

This is an aircraft coming in to Los Angeles, California, airport (LAX) for a beautiful sunset landing; pilots always get a front row seat to all the sunset splendor.

Shot with a Nikon D300, with a 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom. Scene color got a bit of help from the shade white balance and vivid picture control settings. It was such a quick grab shot that I had the camera set for jpeg and not raw. So I couldn't do much editing.
