Inspired by Pamela Hall's oil painting titled, "Admiring Audubon," I hoped to recreate, in a photographic image the look and feel of the painting which captures the beauty and elegance of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed. I used my own dog, Duchess, (always a willing subject for my photos)as my model. Duchess is failing in health and I know this image will be a cherished reminder of her sweet, gentle personality.

The image was taken with a Nikon D750 camera and a Nikkor 24-120mm lens. I used an X-it Pro-series digital TTL flash with a Rogue Flash Bender reflector and a diffusion panel to light my subject.
