This is an artwork installation in the Chihuly Museum of Glass, Seattle, WA
When I entered the room I was dazzled by the vibrant colors of the organic glass sculptures growing out of a large sheet of black glass in a dark room. It reminded me of the fantastical plants and flowers in various versions of Alice in Wonderland movies and books after she "fell down the rabbit hole". But how to capture that in a photo?
As it was dark and I had to use a somewhat long shutter speed anyway, I decided to drop my ISO below where noise would be an issue and use creative zoom blur by turning the Zoom Ring while the shutter was open to give a "falling into" feel - like falling down a rabbit hole. By doing this some camera shake caused by the long shutter speed would not be an issue.
The result is my "Falling Into Glass" image.
