Just a few compositional elements really make this image pop. The yellow flower, isolated bee, and a stark black background. Though this image was captured in my own garden in the middle of the day, I was able to alter exposures to create an entirely black background which substantially adds to the isolation of the flower and bee. The two other flower buds help balance the composition.
Nikon D90, 1/750 sec, f5.6, ISO 200.
