There is an old growth deciduous woods near my home in upstate NY. This woods is surrounded by suburban homes but is protected as a watershed area. The spring leaves were just beginning to unfold and were back lighted by a blue sky and brilliant sun. To get this shot I pointed my camera right up the trunk of this old maple. I processed this image using Photoshop Black & White and emphasized green to highlight the new leaves and reduced blue to darken the sky.
