I used a dimmer switch to get the current through the bulb as low as possible and selected a 40W appliance bulb because it had more interesting internals than a standard 60W bulb. I placed continuous lighting with an acrylic sheet on both sides of the bulb in order to give the bulb more dimensionality. The final image was post-processed in Photoshop CC and Nik/Google's Color Efex Pro. Shot with a Canon 5D MkIII and Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 100mm lens. Exposure was 1.0 second @ f/20 and ISO 100.
